On a rather hot and early fall morning in New York City I left my hotel in Chelsea to walk a few blocks – well, more than a few to be fair. With my Starbucks coffee in my hand and my shades on it almost made me feel like a New Yorker, walking along side all these business people going to work. I had another destination than most of the people though – I wasn’t about to enter an office…but I was heading towards The Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa and have me some me-time at their Shibui Spa…..
I’ve had some amazing facials at Ole Henriksen’s spa – even before I got into the spa business myself. Actually, it was in his spa during a treatment, that I decided myself to pursue my dream and become an esthetician. And let me also start by saying, that I’ve had A LOT of facials in my life – as a teen I had severe acne, so I have definitely tried a lot on that account.
Ahhhh….everyone’s favorite Ole (or Ooolaaah, as the Americans would pronounce it). Let me start by saying, I’m CRAZY about Ole – I love his energy, his products and yes his energy! Also he’s always very sweet and kind, when you meet him – all the way to the core.
That’s why I have always made sure to stop by his spa, whenever I’m in LA – the spa is a bit tricky to find. This time was a little extra special as it was the day before the Oscar’s – doesn’t get any more Hollywood than that! Even if the rain was pouring down this day in the usually sunny LA. Just to set the scene for you – the spa is located on Sunset Blvd – well actually under Chin Chin restaurant with the entrance against Sunset Blvd. A bit complicated to explain – but hope you get the picture.
