I had the pleasure of visiting New York in April – to those of you, who haven’t been to New York in the Spring – GO! It’s beautiful – okay, admitted I love New York anytime of the year.
I always try to get a treament the first day of my vacation in order to get un-jetlagged and really get the vaca-mode. I had found Langham Place online – and it just caught my eye straight away. Langham Place is a part of Leading Hotels of the World.
Langham Place is located on Fifth Avenue. As soon as you step inside the spa, you’re taken to a place of tranquility and ease. It’s calm to the eyes and soul. I was greeted by Gaylen Marano – the spa manager. I felt right at home with her warm welcome. I was presented with a questionaire to make sure, I didn’t have any health issues or allergies and a nice cold glass of cucumber water to hydrate before my treatment. I had chosen a 90 min HydraFacial treatment in hopes of it working wonders for my skin after the long flight to NYC.
I was escorted to the changing room. A bright room with small lockers for my clothes. I love that the lockers had little boxes with the small necessities, that you don’t always bring with you, when visiting a spa. The changing room had sauna and steam room.
The spa has 11 treatment room – 3 of them for facials only. Also the spa has a cold room, shower massage room (kinda like a “car wash” with showerheads on each wall), heated whrilpool and a hamman room. I fell in love with the hamman room instantly! Lots of space and the products right outside, so you could scrub and apply the clay on your body yourself! And one of the best things in my humble opinion – there was a timer to all the rooms, so you could start your own spa treatment and repeat as many times as you wanted! Could have stayed all day!
The lounge area was spectacular! It was in the corner – between the pool/hamman and changing rooms. Quiet and calm – yet in bright colors with a lot of light – soothing for the soul. They served rubus, raspberries, apples, nut mix, grapes, cold mint tea and cucumber water. Everything was fresh and so nice!
Now my treatment was, as mentioned before, the 90 min HydraFacial – let me just say, if you choose that – you cannot go wrong! Of course the 90 min flew by like 5 min. Normally I’m into the more holistic facials without too many “machines” used in the facials. I’d like to feel the hands of the therapist. Langham Place Spa surely knew, how to do both in this treatment. The therapist was super professional and very sweet – and the best she knew exactly, what she was doing! And took great pride in her work. This is one of the first places, I’ve ever been to in the States, where the therapist knew a lot about ingredients and kept herself updated! Such a pleasure!
My skin can sometimes be rather sensitive to new products and treament, but boy…my skin was FLAWLESS after the treatment – and felt so soft, glowing and at ease after being on a flight for so many hours the day before. I’m diffently going back next time, I’m in NYC! I’m addicted to HydraFacials at Langham Place Spa!
One happy girl at Langham Place Spa! Thank you for having me at your beautiful spa!
The 90 min HydraFacial is $ 350 and for a day spa access at The Langham Place Spa is $ 75. When staying at the Langham Place access to the spa is complimentary.
